A Detail is restoring a car to showroom condition. You can tell that detailing is not a strictly
defined process, but an outcome. Therefore asking how much does it cost to detail my car is a bit
like asking how long is piece of string.
There are hundreds of different techniques that a detailer may use to achieve the desired effect. They
will all include lots of
general cleaning
and waxing but may also include,
paint touch ups,
clay treatment, degreasing,
paint adjustment, polishing, steam cleaning, bumper bar repairs, dent removal, etc.
Of course lots of places offer one size fits all. That is they have a set price for the piece of string (detail)
with no knowledge of the length of string that you want. With detailing it is best that you present your vehicle
to the detailer and asked them "what do you have to do and how much will it cost me. This can save lots of
disappointments and disagreements.
When shopping for a detail ask the following questions:
1. What paint preparation will you do before the polish?
2. Why are those things necessary?
3. How will you get the stains out of the fabric. Steam of shampoo, (Always Steam)?
4. What type of results can I expect?
5. What if i want to spend less, what can you achieve?
6. What if I wanted to spend more what else is possible?
Happy detail shopping
